Bachelor’s in Chemistry from UC Irvine
Master’s in Chemistry from Cal Poly Pomona

Experience:

To cover over 44 years of experience in a few sentences is very difficult but in summary, he has over 16 years’ experience in both commercial and government laboratories, 15 years’ experience in data quality assessment, and 9 years’ experience in assessing laboratories.  His laboratory and assessment experiences include all chemistry and radiochemistry analyses.

He is currently the Owner/President of William Ray Consulting, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in technical and compliance assistance to the environmental laboratory community.  He has developed training tools; conducted training, laboratory assessment, and provided assistance in reviewing regulatory compliance from the laboratory perspective.  He is currently working on developing self-paced training programs for small laboratories.

He has published several articles including: “Legally Defensible”; “Twin Time Bombs in the Proposed Methods Update Rule”; “The J flag doesn’t Mean ‘Junk’”; and “Neither Here nor There” a discussion on the final language of 40CFR Part 136.7.

WRC has provided training including: “Field Measurements”; “Essential QC Workshop; “2015 Methods Update Rule”; How to Make a Training Video”; and “Adopting Laboratory Methods for the Field”.
